Waverley College is a proud and innovative school unique to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney with a rich and distinguished history educating young men and boys. The school approached our studio to refresh their entire identity to appropriately reflect their innovative educationally vision; simultaneously respecting the 117-year history of the school.
Executing an entire brand refresh for a college with such a rich history and prominent presence in its community is an incredible opportunity, and it’s one that the studio jumped at the chance to be involved in.
From the outset, it was clear that our team needed to find that golden balance in branding; bridging a tangible connection between past, present and future. Waverley has an wonderful history dating back to 1903, a proud modern-day reputation built on high-quality education and a clear vision for the future development of the college.
Respecting the heritage of the school, building on its hard-earned character and communicating its dedication to the future with a clean, contemporary style was paramount in our design process from the very beginning. This carried through from conceptualisation and development all the way to the final execution of the brand refresh, resulting in a considered, modern aesthetic that builds upon (not disregards) the history and spirit of the college.
